COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) has announced that the Answers Keys to the COMEDK exam conducted on 8th May, 2011 will released as soon the exam is complete. It will be done in a few hours.

This exam is mostly written by people coming from across the Karnataka border. With this, they can get into Engineering, Medical Colleges. Though, the price structure isn’t subsidized like the Karnataka CET, but gives some options. Approximately, 75,000 candidates have appeared in the exam in which 15,000 are natives. Comparatively, the competition is a little less.

Karnataka PUC 2011 Results to be announced on May 10th

Everyone are waiting for this years Karnataka PUC results. Previously, it had been told that it will be announced on the first week of May. It is most probable that it will be announced on May 10th 6:00 by the Pre university board of Karnataka.

AIEEE Answer Keys 2011 – Physics, Chemistry, Maths

AIEEE was yet another exam that I’m happy to finish. The paper got leaked in Lucknow. So, the exam was postponed for just 2 hours. It seems CBSE already had another paper printed out. That’s Commendable.

Some Blah Blah about the Exam (Scroll down for the Answer Keys):
AIEEE is an exam that’ll help you join some elite colleges like NITs, VIT, and some mediocre IITs. Most people write AIEEE to just get into NIT Suratkal. The cutoff for the exam is currently unknown. The exam was supposed to start at 9:30 but it finally started at 12:30. It’s a 3 hour exam. It consists of 3 papers – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. It’s based on the the CBSE 12th syllabus. This year’s AIEEE was conducted on 1st May 2011. Students from all over India wrote the exam with great enthusiasm.

[iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch] How to restore without Upgrading it to the latest firmware

If you are reading this post, you would’ve, most probably, screwed your iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch and you’ll have a new firmware out that will kill your jailbreak abilities. The best way to rescue it would be to use the inhouse reset facility.

1) Goto Settings –> General –> Reset. Then use the reset all settings option.

[Fix] iPad / iPhone error 0xe8000065 on iTunes (Windows)

I got this error, it means that your iPad / iPhone isn’t playing well with your Windows PC.

Why it happens?

You, most probably, didn’t let it do its shit while it was syncing (Ah, Backing up takes forever!)

What you do now?
1) Connect your iPad / iPhone to your computer.
2) It’ll show up the error.
3) Now, switch off your iDevice without breaking connection means, don’t disconnect. (Hold the button on the top for about 5-6 seconds and then slide to power off)
4) Switch it on. Hold the button on the top.
5) Your computer will most probably detect your Device and sync.
6) If not, try reinstalling iTunes.

How to check status of your AIEEE Application 2010 – 2011

Checking the status is pretty easy. You can go to this page and enter your Application number. Its on the Application form.

If it says

Application Form Number ‘XXXXXXX’ is yet to be received/ processed.

It mostly means that your application has not yet been processed. You can check if your application has reached there, by the speed post’s tracking service (not sure about registered post, can anyone confirm?.. Comment).

Make sure that you have the receipt for your Speed post. You’ll have a speed post number like SP EK123456789IN

SMS “SP EK123456789IN” (thats “SPEK123456789IN”)

to 55325

This will atleast tell that if its there or not.

How to set root password in Ubuntu 10.04 su

By default, the root password is not set. You can set it easily.

1) Go to Applications –> Accessories –> Terminal.

2) And enter

sudo passwd root

3) You’ll get a password prompt. Set the pasword..

To login as root.

[Fix] Slight Movement / Jerk, Restarts Computer

I have this computer that would restart If I kick the CPU tower (or even a pat). Initially, I thought it was the lose connections in the power cord. Finally, It was the power supply seated improperly.

If you have the same problem, here are some troubleshooting steps (Check after ever step):

Secure the power cord firmly (behind the computer cabinet)
Open up the CPU tower by removing the 2 screws on the side.
Its could be a short. Wiggle the power supply / PSU.
Make sure you have standoffs screwed in properly. For this unscrew everything on the motherboard. Make sure each one has these stand offs. If not, screw them properly.
Sometimes, it could be the hard drive too. Tap it once, if it restarts, it could be the hard drive.

Here’s the list of instructions, in case you missed.

You are advised to come to the examination center at least half an hour before commencement of the test. (i.e. 9.00 a.m.)
The student’s seat number and the room number in which the
test will be conducted will be displayed in each center. Please check

the location of your room. Before entering the room, please show your ADMIT CARD to the Invigilator.
The syllabus for the aptitude test is broadly equivalent to the XII standard level of National and State Board Examinations.
The test is of 3 hours duration (9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.)
The question paper consists of two parts (both contain only
multiple choice questions) for 100 marks. There will be four sections

in Part I (each containing 20 questions) and four sections in Part II

(each containing 10 questions). Answer any THREE of the four sections in Part I, and any TWO of the four sections in Part II.

The composition of the question paper is given in the table below:

If you wish to change your answer, please erase the existing mark completely before marking the other oval.
There is negative marking for wrong answers. Unanswered questions will not be evaluated and will not be penalized as a wrong answer.
In Part I each correct answer gets 1 mark and for each incorrect answer 0.25 mark will be deducted. In Part II each correct answer gets 2 marks and for each incorrect answer 0.5 mark will be deducted.
You are permitted to use a non programmable calculator.
If you have NOT furnished the photograph, you are requested to bring an attested photograph with you.
Kindly note that the OMR sheet has to be returned to the invigilator before leaving the room.
Candidates are permitted to carry their question paper after the examination.
Inside the examination hall use of Mobile Phone is strictly prohibited.
