I tend to doze off while listening to music / audiobooks / podcasts in bed. Then, I would remember to shut it down the next day. I normally do this with my iPod but this could be a good alternative.

I always wanted an app which would play audio files and then, shut down after sometime (like I do). I found this app which reduces the sound volume of your computer in a given amount of time and speed and then shuts down your computer. Awesome huh?

Nowadays, many users are switching to Google Chrome because it’s fast. One of the disadvantages of Google Chrome is the small plug-in library. Here’s where Bookmarklets comes to the rescue. These are small JavaScript snippets which act like an add-on.

Instructions – Drag the links to the Bookmarking Toolbar.

Stumble It – StumbleUpon, a very popular service should be the first in the list. You can stumble the page you are currently browsing. To submit a review use SU Submit.

Socialize – This plug-in adds the current page to 50 bookmarking sites.

Tweet this – Twitter cannot be left behind. When you click it, you can just tweet the current page.

Page Rank + Alexa – If you want to check the PageRank and the Alexa Ranking of a page, just click on this.

How to recover data from scratched CD / DVD / Hard Drive

Do you have a CD / DVD which is has some precious data? Bad sectors on your old hard drive? Want to back it up? I have an awesome app which is going to work hard to retrieve your data.

I started testing out my CDs. I tried verifying it with ImgBurn. You can see that, my CD drive is struggling to read the disc.

Then, I found out about this great software, which does what ever it can to backup your data. You can see that, all the files I tried to recover came out with 100% integrity.
