I bought a Kinect recently (got it shipped from the US) to find out that, it needed an AC adapter for my Original Xbox 360. The original one costs $49 but the problem is, we don’t get it here in India :(.
Well, I could make my own in under Rs. 20 (50 cents). All you need is:
Soldering Iron, soldering flux and the lead wire
Hot glue gun
Shielded USB Cable (I got mine from a mobile transfer cable)
12V [...]

Microsoft has a strategy to sell their Xbox 360 consoles at throwaway prices and make it up by selling overpriced accessories.
I wanted to get a VGA Cable by which I could could connect my Xbox 360 to my monitor (Fights over the TV is quite normal in my place). I looked at the price tag of the Official VGA cable ($40!). At the end of of the its just a cable and it doesn’t deserve $40. So, I got myself [...]

I had this Liteon DVD Drive that wouldn’t read disks, no matter what. ‘Disc Unreadable’ or ‘Open Tray’ or ‘Dirty disc’ is all that I could see. These errors mean, it could be a bad write or a bad DVD drive. I have made a check list that would take you out of this dilemma.
If it isn’t the DVDs, then you can try a pot tweak. By doing this, you actually give the DVD Drive’s [...]

This is a very simple trick, but not many people know about this. This can save you $30!! Also typing on those small pad can sometimes be weary.
What you need?
1) Xbox 360 (duh!)
2) USB keyboard, wired or wireless, doesn’t really matter
How it works?
I know that Meekrosoft is a money hungry sucker, but surprisingly, they let us use a USB keyboard off the game.
Note: USB keyboards still can’t be [...]

If you have a VGA cable, connecting your headphones can be tricky. If you don’t, you can Make a VGA cable for the Xbox 360, yourself
The signal from Xbox 360 is very weak. We need to amplify it. I will be showing ways to amplify the signals.
Ways you can do it:
1) This is the easiest method. If you have a decent speaker just connect the RC cables to the line-in port of the speaker. Then, connect [...]

First of all I would like to thank all the people involved on Xbox-scene, Llamma and other forums who have made this repair possible.
Disclaimer: Do not use this method if you have the warranty. Use this method as your last resort.
What is RRoD?
Basically, RRoD (Red Ring of Death) is a name given to Microsoft’s 3 Red light error and is a caused by cheap manufacturing.
How do you find out the reason [...]

First of all I thank Xbox-scene and Xbox-experts to make this possible.
Possible Defective parts:
1) Power brick/supply
2) Motherboard
3) Mosfets
Finding the defective part:
Common sense…
Use the power brick with any other working Xbox 360 (Just to check, borrow it from your friend)
1) If it doesn’t work – Your Power brick is faulty
2) If its does – Your 360 is faulty.
You can also check your [...]
